Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions

The faculty member will provide ambulatory care clinical services at the Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System. The School of Pharmacy has partnered with VANTHCS for over 20 years to provide outstanding patient care and educational programs. The faculty member's teaching responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory, case/simulation-based, and experiential teaching within the School of Pharmacy's curriculum. The faculty member will engage in scholarship and service and be expected to train pharmacy residents.

Required Qualifications

Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate's intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a specialty residency in Ambulatory Care or equivalent teaching and practice experience (particularly in comprehensive medication management of chronic disease states). Board Certification is preferred. Licensure or eligibility to be licensed in the state of Texas is required. The professorial level will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
