Description:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in sound recording and audio engineering and other courses related to the candidate's expertise. They will be required to design and implement a research agenda in the candidate's area of expertise.
Potential areas of expertise, for both instruction as well as research interests, could include live performance/theatre audio production and mixing, multimedia production, audio archiving and acoustics, podcasting, and analogue/ legacy equipment and techniques. They will provide direction and leadership for the Recording Arts program (including collaborative curriculum development in the Recording Arts degree program at the undergraduate level) and will serve as the primary advisor for the degree program as well as the supervision of student internships and general service opportunities. Additional responsibilities include co-management/oversight of university recording studios, student studio managers, and advisement for the purchase and maintenance of departmental equipment. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
