Position Description

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) is recruiting for a Community Health Nurse 4 located in Pahrump, Nevada. This advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides professional nursing care to clients in the community setting.

The position provides preventive and direct service delivery, education, counseling services, and reproductive health services; initiates a medical record and obtains health information including specimen and sample collection; identifies and treats communicable disease; conducts health screenings; analyzes and interprets test results; conducts infant and child health assessments and counseling; performs physical and developmental screenings; administers immunizations; consults and collaborates with organizations and agencies in the community to encourage health, wellness, and disease prevention.

As an APRN with community/public health experience the incumbent will work with community health nurses throughout rural Nevada, providing consultation and orders following established protocols. This position may provide services on behalf of and at multiple sites statewide to support DPBH and Rural Community Health Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), including Active Prescribing designation, with certification in Women's Health or Family Practice, OR an APRN, including Active Prescribing designation and one year of experience in a women's health or family practice setting.
