Reporting to the Accounts Payable Operations and Travel Manager (AP Operations and Travel Manager), with additional lead work direction from the Accounts Payable Lead (AP Lead), the Vendor Representative is responsible for accurately classifying, disbursing, and reporting payments for goods, services and travel due from the University and its Auxiliaries. The Vendor Representative works as a team member in a high volume, fast-paced multi segmented accounting environment that serves a multitude of Sonoma State University customers and vendors.
This position requires the equivalent of four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience, working in a multi-segmented accounts payable environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Comprehensive knowledge of financial record-keeping, mathematical and general office methods, procedures, and practices; and basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite and PeopleSoft preferred.
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,532 to $4,270 a month. This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
