The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one regular, full-time position in the class of Administrative Services Analyst (ASA) at the Yolo County District Attorney's Office . The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for performing technical-related activities within the department. The ideal candidate for this position must have the ability to think critically, solve problems, and learn quickly. Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, as well as being a team player who is willing to help others are also crucial characteristics for success in this position. Under direction, the incumbent performs moderately difficult and complex administrative and analytical work that may involve and/or emphasize the functional areas of: general and administrative support, fiscal and contract management, program analysis and compliance, staff development and training, and/or information systems support; and performs other related duties as required.Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the full journey-level class in the professional Administrative Services Analyst series. At this level, incumbents use substantial independent judgment to make decisions on work issues, including those that are unusual or fall outside of established parameters. Incumbents often perform duties that are highly specialized to the work unit, emphasizing one or more of the following functional areas: general and administrative support, fiscal and contract management, program analysis and compliance, staff development and training, and/or information systems support. Consequently, specialized recruitments may be held to attract applicants by functional area.

Assignments may include, but are not limited to, the duties listed below. Typical duties related to information systems support functions:
- Coordinates with departmental staff, outside vendors, and central information technology staff and communicates functional guidelines to be utilized in the execution of information technology systems.
- Conducts technical studies and analyses of information systems and makes recommendations.
- Prepares complex and/or technical written documents such as reports, system documentation and user manuals.
- Contact and consult with software vendors for upgrades and fixes to problems;
- Diagnose, analyze and resolve software problems.
- Identifies and recommends staff training needs.
- Performs administrative and maintenance tasks for departmental information systems.
- Obtains quotations for equipment and software costs.
- May serve as a point of contact for support of department peripheral equipment.
- Coordinates the use of information services systems among County departments, cities and other agencies.

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, organizational development, social work, education, human resources, information technology or a closely related field; ANDExperience:
Either one (1) year as an Associate Administrative Services Analyst in Yolo County; or three (3) years of professional analytical journey level experience in any of the functional areas required by the position: general and administrative support, fiscal and contract management, program analysis and compliance, staff development and training, and/or information systems support.Substitution:
Additional professional level experience in any of the functional areas noted above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.
Experience in the classifications of Staff Services Analyst I/II, Departmental Analyst, Program and Administrative Planner, and Employment Training Analyst in Yolo County may be substituted for the above required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum four (4) years.Knowledge of:
Computer systems configuration and design; information systems technologies and capabilities; requirements for the installation and implementation of the complex computer software systems; operation of multitasking operations systems and tools; and project administration principles and techniques.Ability to:
Exercise initiative in developing and applying effective operating procedures applicable to information technology systems and office automation programs; conduct feasibility studies to determine needs and implement findings; analyze complex situations accurately and take effective courses of action; gather and analyze complex data; prepare and present formal written and oral reports; develop and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.Background Requirements
Incumbents in this class may have access to Federal Tax Information and are subject to confidentiality and safeguarding requirements of Internal Revenue Code 6103(p)(4). As such, an individual selected for this position is subject to a thorough background investigation as stipulated in Section 5.1.1 of Internal Revenue Service Publication 1075, which includes the following:
- Review of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint results;
- Check of local law enforcement agencies where the subject has lived, worked and/or attended school within the last five (5) years and, if applicable, of the appropriate agency for any identified arrests; and
- Verification of an employee's eligibility to work in the United States.
Background investigations are conducted upon hire and every ten (10) years of employment thereafter.License
