Performs responsible and complex duties associated with a specialized function of a section of clerical employees in a correctional institution

Major/Essential Functions

  • Maintains full clinic flow for Provider, Nursing, Lab, and all other clinics.
  • Active in daily clinics. Duties include, but are not limited to: Check In/Out, update/create/delete reminders as appropriate. Issues print passes for medications and any special passes for offenders as ordered by provider to include pulling medical devices (ace wraps, etc.) from supply room and issuing to patient. Responsible for scheduling appointments for offenders for clinics.
  • Receives and reviews all medical records for completeness following clinic appointments. Completes chart analysis/completion reviews.
  • Assists medical records department with duties as deemed necessary, to include scanning documents. Scanning sick call requests and creating appropriate reminders for each.
  • Completes data conversion for incoming chains for Jordan unit. Assists with data conversion for incoming chains for Baten Unit as needed.
  • Assists with monitoring unit supplies and submits list of items that need to be reordered to FHA or Business Coordinator for restocking of medical/office supplies. Picks up all boxes and assists with verifying that all items on a supply order have been received. Then assists with putting items on shelves in supply room. Responsible for going to front to pick up any/all packages for the medical department.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate for skill and/or training level.

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Three years progressively responsible clerical experience. Additional education and/or related experience to equal three years may substitute on a year for year basis.

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
