GENERAL PURPOSE: Assists the Parks Division workers to help ensure safe, clean, well-maintained grounds and facilities at assigned locations. Parks Maintenance Leadworkers provide lead direction and participate in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled alteration, maintenance, repair and construction of park and recreation facilities and equipment. Incumbents may also need to lead Adult Offender work crews. Public Works maintains not only the 3,700 lane miles of streets but also the sidewalks, street lighting, traffic signals, street sweeping operations, landscaped median islands and buffers, parks and open space landscaping, our urban forest of street trees, trails, and numerous City buildings.
