The BioResource and Agricultural Engineering Department in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking an academic year, Full Time Lecturer in Mechanical and Mechatronics Technology and Engineering starting September 12, 2022. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and level courses in: Agriculture Machinery Safety; Ag Power and Machinery Management; Mechanical Systems Analysis; Agricultural Systems Management; and Equipment Engineering; and engineering topics including Solid Works and shop safety. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Duties may also include, but are not limited to, supervision of undergraduate senior projects, and management of the Cal Poly Tractor Pull Club.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in a relevant agricultural engineering discipline, or a related field is required. Applicants should have a combination of teaching, industry, and practical experience in the design, fabrication, operation, and management of farm equipment.
Must demonstrate excellence in teaching, effective communication, and interpersonal skills. The ability to be a productive team player and to interact well with peers, students, industry, government agencies, and the general public is essential. Must demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interests in undergraduate teaching are required. Candidates must also demonstrate an ability to communicate with industry supporters to secure external funding.
Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Industry experience is preferred. This position requires an individual who has demonstrated the ability to provide undergraduate and graduate students with hands-on engineering education in a multidisciplinary, systems-based environment. Experience with online course development and online teaching preferred. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and laboratory-based instruction. Candidates familiar with the management of a large team of students to put together a regional event like the Cal Poly Tractor Pull at Open House is preferred.
