About the Position: The Interim Associate Dean reports to the Dean of the University Library and as the deputy to the Dean, assumes responsibility for the Library in the Dean’s absence. The Interim Associate Dean represents the Dean at campus and system-wide meetings as required and works as part of the Library’s administrative team to plan Library services, facilitate operations, and resolve issues. The Interim Associate Dean is primarily responsible for Access Services, which includes the following service and service support areas: Guest Services (Circulation, Shelving, Automated Storage/Retrieval System; Interlibrary Loan); Teacher Curriculum Center/Music & Media; University Library Map Collection; Course Reserves & Curricular Resources. This position works closely with Library Faculty and Staff to ensure that the research and teaching needs of CSUN students, faculty, and staff are met and provides excellent customer service. The Interim Associate Dean also manages policies and changes to existing public services, serves on various Library and University committees and creates special reports as needed. Is responsible for routing Library for-credit course proposals through the curriculum review process and updates the Library’s administrative team on curricular changes that may impact Library collections and services. Represents the Library at various campus and off-campus functions. Serves as Administrator-in-Charge in the Dean’s absence.
