Job/Department Summary:

Under general direction of the Associate Director of Residence Life, the Senior Coordinator for Conduct and Compliance will perform highly complex professional student services work in individual and group settings, reviewing the most difficult individual, group or organizational problems, developing and recommending courses of action, and implementing proposed solutions. The incumbent develops, recommends, and implements comprehensive processes for the CSU, Chico residential life program which serves a residence population comprised of approximately 2,300 students. This position has broad high-level decision making authority which affects the long-term success of the residential life program.

The incumbent works independently, takes initiative, and contributes broadly to the mission, vision, and values of the University Housing department, while assisting the Associate Director with departmental planning efforts and operational oversight.

The incumbent is responsible for dealing with sensitive and complex issues in their assigned areas and is part of a 24-hour on-call emergency rotation.

Primary duties include: lead work direction of five Residence Conduct Coordinators (SSP Ill). Oversight of cases involving residential students and violations of their license agreement including the process of terminating a license agreement, Residence Life program compliance including training, development and fire safety, as well as recruitment and selection of resident advisors. Serves as the housing "case manager'' for students of concern and as such may also serve on the Campus Assessment Response and Evaluation (CARE) team.

Mandatory Vaccinations:

The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
  • Master's degree in Behavioral, Social Science, College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counselling, Management, Public Administration, Sociology, or a related discipline.
  • Adjudication and case management experience.
  • Experience using the res life management software system, Maxient.
  • Experience working on a campus BIT or CARE team.
  • Evidence of commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Bilingual or Multilingual skills.

Required Education and Experience:

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related.

AND

Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent to four years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes experience in advising students individually and in groups, and in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.

*A master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling, guidance or a job-related field may be substituted for two years of the required professional experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional, personal or career counseling.

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm.

Salary and Benefits Information:

$5,351 - $7,633 per month / $64,212 - $91,596 annually
