Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary: $3,276 - $3,500 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $3,276 - $5,148 per month

This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Dean and Associate Dean of the College, this position provides general administrative functions to the College which are usually operational and procedural in natural. The incumbent plans and executes a variety of project oriented activities for the Dean's Office. The incumbent will coordinate clerical and administrative support functions for the Dean's Office. Projects involve a wide range of problems requiring use of reason and judgment, interpretation of policies, and contact with individuals at all levels of the University and individuals on and off-campus.

Key Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of the English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
  • Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broad range of technology, systems, and software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in standard office methods, procedures and practices.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student, faculty and staff population.
  • Ability to:
    • Independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
    • Apply independently a wide variety of complex policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
    • Effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.

Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
  • Three or more years of work experience with progressively responsible clerical experience.
