Job Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Student Conduct and Ethical Development, the Student Conduct Specialist (SCS) will serve as a Student Conduct Administrator in the Dean of Students Office. In conjunction with the Director of Student Conduct, the Student Conduct Specialist will hold responsibility for the implementation of the campus' ethical student development program, maintaining compliance under CSU Student Conduct Executive Orders and serve as a Student Conduct Administrator for the University. The SCS assists in the student conduct process at CSUSM by administering student conduct cases and investigations, all while upholding and adhering to the applicable CSU Systemwide Executive Orders, Title V, State, Federal and Local Laws. The Student Conduct Specialist will primarily address alleged violations of policies within the Housing and Residential Education community at CSUSM (University Village Apartments, The Quad, and The Commons). The SCS will create and provide developmental, educational and informational presentations, trainings & workshops for residential students, families, faculty and community members, and assist with the programs and services offered by the Dean of Students Office upon request. The Student Conduct Specialist will also provide general retention counseling and guidance for students on a variety of academic and personal issues. The SCS works collaboratively with functional areas within the Dean of Students Office, departments across CSUSM divisions, other CSU and County of San Diego campuses, and community partners to cultivate a campus environment that promotes safety, fairness, equity, and encourages engagement in civil discourse.

Position Summary

Student Conduct Specialist (Student Services Professional II)

This is a full time , exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,304 - $6,120 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,304 - $6,120 per month
