We offer a competitive salary with bi-annual step increases of approximately 2.5% up to top salary step of $137,924 annually.

Land Use Services Department, Planning Division, is recruiting for an Environmental Compliance Manager who is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing the Land Use Services Environmental Compliance Program; and who seeks to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.

*Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Proposition 172 Sales Tax Collections performance.

Minimum Requirements

Education : Bachelor's degree or Equivalent in Geology, Engineering Geology, or closely related field that includes coursework in geology.

License/Registration : Must possess valid licensure as a Professional Geologist or Geophysicist issued by the California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists (BPELGS).

Experience: Six years of professional engineering geological experience, at least two years of which shall have been comparable in level and responsibility to that of an Engineering Geologist.

Substitution for Education : Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis (one year per 30 semester/45 quarter units).

Substitution for Experience :
A Master's degree in a qualifying area may substitute for one year of the required experience.
A Doctorate degree in a qualifying area may substitute for two years of the general experience.

Desired Qualifications

Certifications in Hydrogeology (CHg) and Engineering Geology (CEG) are strongly desired.
