Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is looking for an Epic Clinical Analyst I to join the Epic Team. This position is the trainee classification in the new Epic Clinical series. Under training conditions, the Epic Clinical Analyst I will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to qualify for promotion to Epic Clinical Analyst II. The Epic Clinical Analyst I will learn how to perform the moderately complex systems analysis and applications programming, and learn how to serve as a resource for implementing technical solutions to meet customer business needs and function in a support role on major new development project teams. This position will work with internal analysts and technical staff to conceptualize function, data structures and best fit, and create functional specifications to meet customer expectations.
Epic Clinical Analyst I will be assigned to one or more of the following modules:
EpicCare Beaker & Anatomic Pathology Analyst (Lab and AP System)

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
ARMC, which is owned and operated by San Bernardino County, is a state-of-the-art 456 bed university-affiliated, teaching medical center featuring the newest technology in the field of patient care. ARMC, is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 90,000 annual visits, a Level II Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, a Regional Burn Center, Behavioral Health Services, Outpatient Specialty Clinics and five Primary Care Family Health Centers (FHC). The FHCs offer comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals and families of all age groups. The FHCs are staffed with experienced attending physicians and resident physicians from the Medical Center. ARMC is a Primary Stroke Center and has a Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 2800 births per year. The Neonatal Intensive Care is a 30 bed Community California Children's Services certified unit.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be "fully vaccinated and boosted" for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. COVID-19 Testing Requirements: Workers in impacted health care facilities who are not "fully vaccinated and boosted" are required to submit to COVID-19 testing at least twice per week to meet testing requirements.

Background: Applicants selected for this position must pass a background investigation and medical examination including drug screening.
Certification: Incumbent must obtain EPIC certification in assigned module within 90 days of hire. The Clinical Informatics Department in collaboration with the Epic implementation executive team will reserve its right to extend beyond 90 days if the core training class schedule falls outside the 90-day hiring period. If certification is not obtained after 90 days of hire or the dedicated extended time allowance, the incumbent's employment will be terminated. All applicants must attach a copy of their Epic Certification if currently certified.
Training: Applicants must be able to sit in a training room for up to 8 hours a day.
License: A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance is required at time of hire.
Travel: Applicant may need to travel to Wisconsin by airplane for training on an as needed. basis. Travel expenses will be paid for by the San Bernardino County.
Candidates Must Meet Both Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Social Work, Heath Science, Clinical Nutrition, Speech Pathology or closely related fields.
Experience: 2 years of professional clinical experience working in an acute care hospital as a Clinical Lab Scientist, Cytotechnologist, Dietitian, Genetic Counselor, Occupation Therapist, Physical Therapist, Social Services Practitioner, Speech Therapist or closely related.
Substitution: An Epic Certification will substitute 1 year of professional clinical experience listed above.
The ideal candidate will have professional level experience working as a Clinical Lab Scientist, Cytotechnologist, Dietitian, Genetic Counselor, Occupation Therapist, Physical Therapist, Social Services Practitioner, Speech Therapist in an acute care hospital. This candidate will have a desire to learn clinical informatics and be willing to serve as a subject matter expert for the implementation of Epic.
There will be a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on the information provided in your Application and the Supplemental Questionnaire. Applicants that are placed on the eligible list will be required to take a Logic Test provided by EPIC and hosted by San Bernardino County. The most highly qualified candidates will be referred to the department for an interview.
