The City of Chandler Fire Health & Medical Services Division is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an EMS Specialist. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The typical work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. There will be an opportunity to work a flexible schedule upon completion of initial probation. This position is open continuously with the first review of applications on July 5, 2022.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, ability to organize, and prioritize work and is dependable, reliable, and responsible. The primary function of an employee in this class is to support EMS related activities of fire personnel including but not limited to EMS supply delivery, minor EMS equipment repair and/or replacement, medication exchange with fire personnel and hospital, special event preparations, be involved in continuous quality improvement of EMS documentation and treatment, support other City EMS related programs and equipment. This team member may be additionally called upon to develop, present, administer and evaluate emergency medical training and other EMS related activities for Fire Department personnel which may include one or more of the following: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), immunizations, EMS equipment management, Quality Assurance Program, problem resolution and certification and recertification of EMS providers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Certified Emergency Paramedic (CEP); and
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

The position available is a full-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
