The Department of Nursing provides a supportive, collaborative and academically rigorous environment with a clear focus on social justice and health equity in all areas of nursing and healthcare. We actively strive to represent the diversity of our Bay Area community in all of its forms both in our student population and our faculty. The department has approximately 400 students in BSN, RN-BSN, and Master's Degree in Nursing programs and is a part of the College of Science. The nursing program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Nursing program graduates have a history of strong performance on the NCLEX. The Department has a reputation for producing highly skilled health professionals and enjoys supportive relationships with regional healthcare facilities. DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
We are seeking a candidate qualified to teach broadly in our nursing program, depending on their area of expertise. Successful candidates would have experience in nursing leadership/management in adult/geriatric acute or ambulatory care, or community health and/or health policy. Other areas of specialization such as healthcare informatics are also welcomed. Ability to teach in multiple content areas and formats is a plus. The position will include teaching courses in the classroom, lab, clinical settings, and will utilize Canvas course management system. Classes may include in-person and both synchronous and asynchronous online formats. In addition to teaching, all faculty are expected to create an open, welcoming, supportive learning environment. Faculty members will have student advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative responsibilities and curricular development, participate on department and campus-wide committees, and develop collaborative, scholarly work. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at the Hayward, Concord and Online campuses. The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California. In addition to teaching, all faculty have advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative and/or committee work, and are expected to assume campus-wide committee responsibilities. RANK AND SALARY:
Assistant Professor. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Subject to budgetary authorization. DATE OF APPOINTMENT:

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning, a growth-mindset and a team-approach.
Have teaching experience.
An active California RN license or be eligible for one.
Have a bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
Expect to have an earned doctoral degree in nursing or a related discipline prior to their start date.
Have expertise in nursing leadership/management in adult/geriatric acute or ambulatory care, or community health, or nursing informatics, and/or health policy.
Eligible for Board of Registered Nursing faculty approval for lecture and clinical instruction.
Demonstrated commitment to mentoring students and working with diverse populations.
Engaged in scholarly inquiry and community service.
