The Recreation Services Department: The Recreation Services Department is responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of recreation and leisure time activities within the City of Concord. In addition to traditional youth, adult and senior programs, the Department also operates Diablo Creek Golf Course, Camp Concord in Lake Tahoe, and schedules facility and picnic reservations. The Recreation Program Coordinator is responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling part-time staff; preparing and maintaining program budgets; and creating, marketing, and implementing special events and programs. The position will also coordinate sponsorship programs and contract classes, and provide excellent and timely customer service to a diverse community. Work may include irregular hours during the evenings and on weekends and holidays to attend meetings, community functions, and special events; and to resolve problems/issues that may come up outside of normal business hours. Position Summary: The Marketing Department in the College of Business is collecting application materials for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2024-25 academic year. Specific course/discipline needs are likely to occur in the areas of: retailing, digital marketing, international marketing, sales, integrated marketing communications, and/or general business communications. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Minimum Qualifications: The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have college teaching experience and/or work experience in digital marketing, retailing, advertising, or sales. Additionally, preferred candidates will have experience in CRM and/or business/statistical software. Bilingual candidates will also be given preference. Responsibilities: Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the areas of teaching. This includes lecturing, grading, and everyday teaching practices. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
