Skills should include some combination of the following: film editing, compositing, visual effects, color correction/grading, directing, lighting, or other elements of technical production and post-production. The department seeks a well-rounded candidate with professional and/or teaching experience in television or film production. Those with experience in storytelling that addresses historically underrepresented perspectives are especially encouraged to apply. And, ideally, the candidate would have interest in research and teaching opportunities with other units in the College, such as our award-winning Animation program. Demonstrated experience in teaching is especially valued. We expect the candidate to know traditional, contemporary, and emerging methods and technologies in film and television production and post-production. The applicant should understand the theory, practice, and technical demands of film / television production, and have a well-articulated vision regarding the field and how it should be taught.
