Job Location: This position will be located at Why you'll love this position: Your work as an Intern with the State of Missouri, Office of Administration will allow you to network with those in your chosen profession while serving the citizens of Missouri. Our internships in the Division of Facilities, Maintenance, Design and Construction offer an opportunity to receive meaningful work experience in the Design and Construction field. You will perform entry-level tasks while taking part in skills development activities and projects. The internship schedule is flexible at 20-40 hours per week. What you'll do: Assist FMDC project managers in the planning, design and construction phases of various state projects. Assist in reviewing design plans and specifications to ensure design quality and prepare review comments. Attend design, pre-bid, pre-construction, and construction progress meetings with FMDC project managers. All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications Current enrollment in an accredited Architectural or Engineering bachelor's degree program Current enrollment in a technical or vocational college The ability to interpret plans and specifications and understand basic design concepts The ability to work as part of a team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent administrative and organizational skills Effective communication skills Detail-oriented Preferred Field(s) of Study Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Construction) Architecture Construction Drafting Successful background check results are required for employment in this position.
