Posting Expires: May 16, 2024 Salary Range: $62,988-$104,980 Field Service/ SCADA Engineer performs electronic and related technical and computer work in the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system located at the Water Treatment and Reclamation Facilities, as well as remote stations located throughout the water and wastewater systems. Repairs, calibrates and maintains a variety of operational technology components and automated process control data systems for water and wastewater facilities. Troubleshoots, programs and makes repairs and adjustments to the SCADA system. Reports to the Water Plant Superintendent or designee. Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs and programs data acquisition, telemetry, automation, computer and programmable logic-process control equipment. Provides technical and programming support for all water and wastewater automation control system implementations, which operate or interface with a DCS or PLC/HMI computer controlled networked environment. Repairs a variety of electronics and other SCADA related equipment. Identifies for management equipment required for the proper functioning of the SCADA network at the facility level. Performs telemetry programming and modifications as required for the proper functioning of SCADA equipment and networks. Responds to systems emergencies. Troubleshoots PLC circuit and system faults. In conjunction with the SCADA Systems AnalystEngineer, sets up firewalls and ensures the security of the SCADA systems and components. Responds to after-hours emergency calls and emergency conditions. Operates and maintains a variety of equipment such as telemetry equipment, logic controllers, monitoring equipment, computers, diagnostic equipment, meters, UPS, calibration equipment, hand tools, telephone, etc. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as other City employees, sales representatives, engineers, contractors, and other utility companies. Provide full-time onsite technical support for DCS and SCADA, instrumentation, networking, and security devices within City facilities as defined by the Automation Team. These tasks shall be, but not limited to: Installation, decommissioning, repair, replacement and maintenance of various devices, instruments, and equipment. Responsibilities include design and review of security controls, monitoring of internal/external access controls and security safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems assets. This role will be the subject matter expert in the domain of information security as it relates to servers/workstations, networks, web applications, IT processes and regulatory compliance. Evaluates, selects, implements, and monitors administration of information system security tools across enterprise.
