Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Sterile Processing Technicians I/II who performs a variety of sterile processing procedures ranging from decontaminating, sterilizing, inspecting, testing, packing, and issuing medical supplies, equipment and instruments.

THE DEPARTMENT
ARMC which is owned and operated by San Bernardino County, is a state-of-the art 456 bed university affiliated teaching medical center featuring the newest in technology in the field of patient care. ARMC, is host to six (6) Medical Surgical and six (6) Telemetry units providing care to a diverse patient population, a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 90,000 annual visits, Level I Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons and a Regional Burn Center. Services also include Behavioral Health, Outpatient Specialty Clinics, Primary Care Family Health Centers, a certified Primary Stroke Center and Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 2800 births annually. The Neonatal Intensive Care is a 30 bed Community California Children's certified unit.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
1) Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be "fully vaccinated and boosted" for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons.
2) Availability: Incumbents may be required to work various shifts, holidays, n ight shift, weekend, on-call and call-back.
3) Background: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation which includes drug testing, fingerprinting and verification of employment history.
4) Physical: Physical agility requirements include good vision and color discrimination; fine hand manipulation and finger dexterity in both hands; working and/or reaching above and below shoulder level; using either foot to operate foot controls; ability to move up to fifty (50) lbs. manually or with assistance.
5) Environment: Work environment involves exposure to electricity, chemicals, infectious materials, heat, and odors.
Minimum Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATES Sterile Processing Technician I Candidates must qualify under one of the following options:
Option 1: Six (6) months of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care hospital
Option 2: Completion of Central Service Technician/Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician course from an accredited agency
Option 3 : Any one of the following certificates: CBSPD, PERDUE, IAHCSMM, NBSTA, AST
Sterile Processing Technician II
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care hospital operating sterilizing equipment and cleaning surgical instruments and equipment.

CERTIFICATION: Must possess certification as a Central Service Technician/Sterile Processing Technician from one of the following: CBSPD, PERDUE, IAHCSMM, CBSPD, NBSTA, AST
