Salary Range: $20.10-$30.64/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours:
Wastewater Treatment:Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.,
Watewater Preventative: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Wastewater Treatment: - Performs of a variety of maintenance jobs including pump repair and installations, inspections, and assist maintenance mechanics in the installation of valves, blowers and pumps, and all other necessary equipment.
- Performs basin and clarifier maintenance and inspections.
- Maintains basic tool knowledge.
- Follows instructions from supervisor, mechanics, and other crew members.
Wastewater Preventative: - Assists with the installation, alteration, repair, maintenance or construction of electrical, mechanical, wood, metal parts, tools, equipment and plumbing facilities.
- Requires independent judgement and be able to follow instructions from lead worker.
- Properly performs and assists in the maintenance, repair, modification and testing of gasoline, diesel, and hydraulic equipment.
- Uses acetylene and electrical welding equipment.
- Operates various main line construction and cleaning equipment on site.
- Performs inspections, testing, and maintenance on wastewater cleaning, repair, and safety related equipment per manufactures recommendations.
- Must be detailed, well organized, and have strong record keeping skills.
- Utilizes a field laptop to close out work orders daily.
- May need to work after hours.
Qualifications
REQUIRES completion of a trade school or a shop training program; OR 6 months of experience in general maintenance and repair work. Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. May be required to obtain a valid MO Class A, B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
