The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Per Diem Speech Therapist responsible for planning, implementing, and performing individual speech and language therapy programs for patients of all age groups to enhance speech-language proficiency and development and communication effectiveness. Additionally, the therapist will test and evaluate a patient's speech, language, cognition and swallowing capacity considering their age specific needs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Shift Availability: Positions require working various shifts; therefore, candidates must indicate availability for all shifts to be considered. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage may be required.

Positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Employees may participate in the County's PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits.

Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be "fully vaccinated and boosted" for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons.

Minimum Requirements

Candidate must possess all of the following:

Experience: Successful completion of Clinical Fellowship Year

Education: A Master's degree from an accredited school of Speech Pathology

License: Must possess and maintain a valid Speech Pathologist license issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs - Board of Speech and Language Pathology.

Certifications:
1) Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA);
2) Must possess and maintain a Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
