Salary Range: $6,489-$9,734/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Focuses on city-wide cyber security efforts and functions as the subject matter expert (SME) related to the use of cyber security technology and the integration of these technologies into city-wide and departmental IT environments.
- Establish and direct a risk management process to identify information security risks in public agencies and deploy risk mitigation strategies, processes, and procedures.
- Direct and respond to information security audits and assessments with all agencies in order to ensure program compliance and adjustments.
- Manage the annual security budget, ensuring projects and initiatives make efficient use of the existing budget and preparing supporting justification to align with any new security budget requests.
- Ensure contracts, solicitations, new systems, services, and implementations include appropriate security requirements.
- Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary and to direct discontinuation of services from unsafe systems.
- Develops and manages policies and procedures that focus on protecting the city from all forms of cyber security threats.
- Coordinates, approves, and facilitates city-wide IT change management processes to ensure that such changes do not compromise the integrity of any of the existing cyber security protection systems and implements changes that will improve city-wide cyber security protection.
- Communicates to IT and City leadership potential risks and recommendations for mitigation of potential cyber security threats or events.
- Performs proactive cyber security tasks to include managing the daily use of technology, policies, best practices, training (user and staff) in coordination with city risk management to meet all cyber security regulatory requirements.
- Serves as the primary point of contact related to all cyber security management issues to include working with local, regional, state, and federal agencies to coordinate and counter cyber security criminal activities.
- Evaluates and recommends technologies, regulations, and techniques that directly or indirectly reduce the risk of a successful cyber security event impacting the city.
- Recommends new or changes to programming/coding technologies which are designed to reduce the vulnerability of cyber security attacks to applications.
- Evaluates and recommends cyber security standards for the evaluation of new procurements that contain technology solutions and for contractual language to help reduce the vulnerability associated with the procurement of new technology.
- Leads and manages the city's cyber security team members and directs the activities for all city-wide electronic data protection efforts
- Establish and direct a risk management process to identify information security risks in public agencies and deploy risk mitigation strategies, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 5 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and technology experience.
Preference given to candidates with the following
- CISSP or other formal certifications related to cyber security
- Previous CISO experience
- Previous IT leadership in municipal government
- Previous IT Security supervisor role
