Nature of Work:
Performs skilled work in the operation of complex construction/maintenance equipment. Performs tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Tasks at times are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained.
Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 6:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to read, write and follow instructions, plus two (2) years experience in the operation of equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Florida Commercial Drivers License Class A, B, or C required prior to employment depending on equipment assigned to position. Some positions may be required to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator.
Positions in Streets & Drainage Division require aquatic, right-of-way, and restricted Pesticide License within twelve (12) months of employment depending on area of assignment.

FLORIDA COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE (CLASS A) OR EQUIVALENT FROM ANOTHER STATE MUST BE SUBMITTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. APPLICANTS WHO CANNOT PRESENT VALID CDL WILL NOT RECEIVE AN INTERVIEW.
