The Department of State Hospitals, Metropolitan State Hospital is currently accepting applications for Food Service Technician I , Permanent/Full-time.
The Food Service Technician I (Production) is a ssigned to Dining Rooms, Central Kitchen Trayline & Dish Room, maintaining food safety, food sanitation, and infection control standards at appropriate levels in dining rooms and during patient meal services and/or special events. Under the direction of Food Service Supervisor (FSS) I/II on duty, who will provide written and/or verbal assignments for dining rooms. Food Service Technician I will complete tasks/assignments on a daily basis by end of shift.
Assignments are to work within various workstations in the Dining Rooms and/or Central Kitchen Trayline & Dish Room areas under the direction of the FSS II/I and Food Service Technician II, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures will be followed in all work areas: meal service, trayline services, Dinex reach-in refrigerators for labeling, dates and temperature documentation are followed. HACCP food handling food preparation will be followed. All pureed and ground items will be checked for correct textures before trays are served to patients. Must maintain clean assigned work areas in the dining room.
The Food Service Technician I (Presentation) serves and assists with the preparation, pre-dish, and assembly of food and beverages; cleans and sanitizes all food service equipment, dining tables & chairs; labels and dates food items, using the FIFO -First In First Out method; has the correct food items on the meal ticket, portioned correctly, correct diet and modified diet texture and liquid texture; ensures all cold food items served below 40 degrees or hot food above 165 degrees; assists the loading/unloading of all meal delivery food carts and transit carts on refrigerated trucks to and from the Central Kitchen to the dining rooms; receives weekly food and non-food orders from the Central Kitchen and stores in the dining room pantries; follows the Nutrition Services Policy and HACCP Procedures.
