This position will remain open on a continuous basis with the first review date of November 9, 2022 OR until 150 applications are received. Please apply immediately as this recruitment may close at any time.
Currently there is one (1) full-time vacancy in the Finance Department. This position will primarily perform duties related to customer service, including but not limited to, answering phone calls, helping customers at the counter, responding to voicemails, providing cashiering services and opening and closing water utility accounts.
Schedule: Depending on the position a variety of work schedules may be available (e.g., 5/40, 9/80, 4/10).

SELECTION COMPONENTS:
1. Application Evaluation - The most qualified applicants will be invited to an online skills exam.
2. Online Skills Exam- T entatively scheduled for November 10, 2022. Top scoring applicants who pass the examination will be invited to a Virtual Interview.
3. Virtual Interview - Tentatively scheduled for the week of November 28, 2022. Passing applicants will be placed on an eligibility list that may be used to fill future full-time Senior Fiscal Clerk vacancies as they occur throughout the City.
CalPERS:
The City offers an excellent benefit package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement Systems (CalPERS) Retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 11.5% of pay toward the retirement benefit.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Senior Fiscal Clerk class may be distinguished from the Fiscal Clerk class by the difficulty and complexity of work performed. Incumbents typically possess specialized knowledge, abilities and skills, and often exercise independent judgment in the performance of their duties.

Experience & Education and License/Certificate
A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance of financial and related statistical records.
Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by courses in accounting or business practices.
License/Certificate : Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
