THE POSITION In a non-career and training capacity, to perform heavy manual labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of City streets and other facilities and to operate light trucks, and medium street construction and maintenance equipment. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of : Methods, materials, and tools used in the trade. Ability to : Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Job Summary Under the direct supervision of Associate Director for Facilities Operations, the Laborer primarily performs general unskilled manual labor, which includes a variety of general repair work and preventive maintenance that does not require journey-level skills, assisting with moving/relocation scheduled work requests, uses powered or non-powered cleaning and materials handling equipment and delivery trucks. Position Summary Under general supervision, the Facilities Worker II independently performs a wide range of more complex semi-skilled facilities systems maintenance, repair, and renovation work.
