PURPOSE : Builds and manages a portfolio of donors and prospective donors to solicit major gift commitments for identified CSU Monterey Bay fundraising objectives, identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Conducts 12 to 15 contacts per month including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship actions. Develops written engagement and solicitation strategies; moves prospective donors through the traditional cultivation, solicitation and stewardship cycle recording actions in a moves management system. Supports the portfolios of assigned academic colleges or programs working closely with the Dean, faculty, director and staff. Supports the Annual Gift program with her/his assigned prospects. Assists the Vice President for University Advancement in the preparation and implementation of a development strategic plan. Assists the entire University Development Office in its functions and coordination of activities, including coordinating with other offices of the University. Participates in the activities of committees and organizations to insure that appropriate development policies, procedures and safeguards exist and function in the best interest of the University. Works cooperatively with the Director to develop campus funding plans to increase funds from government sources. Cultivates and maintains positive working relationships with external sponsor agencies. Guides faculty to appropriate agency contacts to discuss proposals prior to submissions. Assists faculty in developing competitive proposals. Collaborates with faculty to develop a proposal budget appropriate to the objectives as stated in the proposal and consistent with the policies of the University, Corporation, and the sponsor agency. Identifies and facilitates solutions to potential administrative issues prior to formal proposal approval from the University and Corporation.Maintains current knowledge and understanding of research administration topics as well as proficiency on technology related to proposal submission. Trains, advises and guides the Sponsored Programs Office staff including creation/update of procedures and training materials. Participates in presentations, workshops and outreach to the campus community regarding funding opportunities, proposal submission and processes. Interpret regulatory and sponsor requirements and the development, implementation and application of policies and procedures related to pre-award sponsored program activities. Post-Award - Programmatic: In consultation with the Director, negotiates terms of awards and agreements with sponsoring agencies; assures compliance with the administrative terms of the award. Conducts the project set-up meetings with the Principal Investigator (PI) once award is made and works with the PI on grant management for compliance with sponsor and Corporation regulations and procedures; provides guidance with fiscal, personnel, payroll, purchasing, insurance and other administrative matters. PURPOSE : Within the Division of Administration and Finance, Facilities Management is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that enables faculty and staff to fulfill the educational mission of California State University, Monterey Bay through the continued planning, design and construction of new and renovated facilities, maintenance of existing campus facilities and grounds, by providing services in a reasonable and timely manner, and by maintaining a quality oriented organization geared toward the enhancement of the educational environment to allow for student success. Under the general direction of the Vice President for Administration and Finance, the Associate Vice President for Facilities Management (AVP) is the principal facilities administrator at CSUMB. The incumbent provides leadership to the institutional processes associated with the planning, funding, design, construction, operation and maintenance of an expanding portfolio of university facilities. The AVP is responsible for overall administration of the University’s property and land assets, facilities strategic planning, campus master plan, capital planning, facility design and construction, facilities services and operations, capital construction project management and continuous improvement of its facilities. Responsibilities also include directing aspects of facilities operations including long-term planning, and fiscal management. The AVP works cooperatively and collaboratively with other campus offices and departments, key campus administration, faculty and staff. The AVP will act as the liaison for CSUMB with local, state and CSU approval and permitting agencies as it relates to facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following : Leadership and supervision: Provide general management, supervision, and professional direction, including organizational development and structure, to departments in the following areas: Facilities Services & Operations: responsible for maintenance and repair of all buildings, mechanical systems, infrastructure, special repairs, renovation, deferred maintenance and the work order system; grounds maintenance and landscaping (currently contracted out); custodial services (currently contracted out); moving services to include major relocations and special events; automotive repair; mail services and shipping and receiving. Planning, Design and Construction: responsible for capital planning, facilities design, space management, construction, energy and utilities, and sustainability. Manage compliance with internal and external regulatory agencies: Interfaces with numerous external county, state and federal agencies such as, but not limited to, California State Fire Marshal, California Division of State Architect, and other agencies accordingly to ensure that campus facilities operations comply with applicable county, state, federal, and local regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, engineering, construction management, business management or a closely related field.
