Incumbents perform semiskilled and skilled duties in the testing, sampling, cleaning, maintenance, inspection, repair, installation replacement, surface and groundwater treatment, and operation of the City's water system infrastructures for the delivery of potable water. The incumbent will be responsible installing, maintaining, and repairing water lines, valves, meters, pressure regulators, pumps and tanks, surface water and groundwater treatment equipment, production equipment, and other water system infrastructures; operating and maintaining wells, reservoirs, and treatment facilities; inspecting residential and commercial service issues. The Water Division manages and operates the City of Fresno's water system. The City delivers drinking water to about 500,000 urban residential, commercial, and industrial customers over 114 square miles of the City, and many County Islands, within the City's Sphere of Influence. One vacancy currently exists in the Water Division of the Department of Public Utilities. Incumbents must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays and serve in an after-hours on-call rotation.
