DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is the journey level class in the Accounting Specialist series. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or closely related field. Experience : One year experience in accounting and financial operations. ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS : Education : One year of experience in accounts payable, accounting, financial operations, or clerical/bookkeeping work with advanced office experience including preparation of correspondence and reports, and record keeping, may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
