The District Attorney of Solano County invites you to apply for the position of Deputy District Attorney I-IV. Deputy District Attorneys practice criminal and civil law in the prosecution of individuals accused of violating state and/or local laws.
Prior felony jury trial experience in any one or more of the following Major Crimes areas, such as: homicide, sexual assault, gangs, domestic violence, human trafficking and career criminal is desirable. The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill part-time and full-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE: Deputy District Attorney I ($7,408.13 - $9,004.63/month):
no experience is required, however, applicants must demonstrate possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Deputy District Attorney II ($10,026.48 - $12,187.32/month):
a minimum of six months of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney I or its equivalent which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Three years experience in the general practice of law may be substituted for the six months of criminal law experience. Deputy District Attorney III ($11,530.52- $14,015.48/month):
a minimum of one year of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney II or its equivalent (a total of 1.5 years of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney) which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Four years experience in the general practice of law may be substituted for the two years of criminal law experience. Deputy District Attorney IV ($13,262.72 - $16,120.91/month):
a minimum of one year of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney III or its equivalent (a total of 2.5 years of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney) which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Five years experience in the general practice of law may be substituted for the three years criminal law experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All levels of Deputy District Attorney: Active membership in the California State Bar Association is required.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license may be required.

BENEFITS/ WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage is $1,671.27 per month for 2022. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage. The County may offer a supplemental contribution for employees enrolled in Employee plus Two or More coverage.
Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible dependents are paid 100% by the County.
Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.
The County observes 12 full day fixed and 2 half day fixed paid holidays per year. Additionally, employees in this bargaining unit receive 1 floating paid holiday per year.
Vacation is accrued at approximately 10 days per year for the first 3 years.
Sick leave accrues at approximately 12 days per year.
Effective July 1 of each year, 80 hours of attorney time off is granted.
Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years.

Extra-help employees who work less than 29 hours per week do not typically receive or accrue benefits of regular employees during their period of employment. All extra-help employees accrue .034 hours of Sick Leave for every full hour worked.
