Job Description and Duties SENIOR MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) - SONOMA MENDOCINO COAST DISTRICT / RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. The Senior Maintenance Aide (Seasonal) performs unskilled maintenance and construction work; maintains and operates light vehicles; and assists permanent maintenance workers in skilled tasks at various park facilities. The Senior Maintenance Aide a ssists permanent staff in the maintenance, construction, and rehabilitation of trails and trail features including trail tread, bridges, retaining walls, and drainage features. Assists permanent staff as needed with maintenance of natural resources including tree felling, bucking, and chipping; stream enhancement, vegetations management, and prescribed burning. Operates, maintains, and cleans a variety of equipment; chainsaws, augers, rigging equipment, and cordless tools. Operates a variety of vehicles, trucks, electric vehicles, and ROVs. Cleans and properly stores assigned equipment. Keep work areas and vehicles clean and in safe operating condition. Attend staff meetings and trainings and prepare administrative paperwork to meet operational needs and provide customer service. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license.
