What You'll Be Doing The Wake County Health and Human Services School Health Program provides school health services for all students attending Wake County public schools. The program consists of 112 school nursing positions. Each nurse serves 2 Wake County Public Schools. School nurses are responsible for providing school health services for a combination of preschool, elementary, middle and/or high schools in the Wake County Public School System. Nursing care is provided via delegation to unlicensed assistive personnel. The School Nurse provides consultation on communicable disease, and medication administration in the school setting. This position also provides case management and chronic disease management for students. School nurses work 8 hours per day and are expected to be present in their schools during the hours students are present.
