The Position Licensed Practical Nurses provide general or psychiatric practical nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse II position is located at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, NV. Under immediate supervision, the incumbent will provide nursing care to inmates in a correctional setting in accordance with established nursing standards and DOC policies. Primary duties involve distribution of medications to inmates, processing refill requests, processing new medication orders, monitoring, and ordering floor stock medications. Other duties include by are not limited to, assisting medical providers during inmate appointments, assisting on the man down team and responding to potential medical emergencies. Incumbent must be reliable, able to work independently according to their scope of practice, able to function under pressure, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors, custody, medical staff, and patients. This position will have significant inmate contact. Special Requirements Phlebotomy certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Intravenous (IV) certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. CPR certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
