Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Golf Division, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for ensuring that the speed of play is consistent and that rules and regulations are followed on the golf course.

The salary range for this position is $14.42- $17.98 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

This is a part year position lasting a maximum of 10 months working less than 30 hours per week.

Position will remain open until filled.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Employee has special job duties in the following areas: Greets players and make sure they are checked in on the iPad. Calls them to begin play. Monitors cart numbers, records turn times and finish times. Monitors pace of play according to the pace of play chart. Make sure all players have been charged correctly. Communicates with the pro shop for walk on play and cleans and restages golf carts. Explain Ready Golf Program, states current golf course conditions, emphasizes green repair and cart rules.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

May be required to work at different facilities in other areas of the division with training as needed by supervisor. Duties may include but are not limited to trash removal, cleaning, painting and other maintenance tasks as required.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

May provide training and supervision for new tee or play managers as directed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Requires good work ethic, people skills, self-motivation, ability to accept criticism, and ability to follow oral and written instructions and verbalize effectively with co-workers and general public. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Education and/or formal training:

Prefer customer service experience.

Experience:

Two (2) years previous golf course tee manager or play manager experience desired. A good understanding of the game of golf required.

Material and equipment directly used:

Utility vehicle, 2-way radio, record-keeping equipment, iPads, carts, range equipment, range ball washer

Working environment/physical activities:

Performs duties in several different locations, primarily in an outside environment. Incumbent may be required to push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, move and position up to 50 pounds, and reach to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work variable hours including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.
