  • The office for this position is located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO. 65101.
  • Candidates who complete a successful onboarding and training period may be eligible to work at an alternate location in compliance with OA-ITSD's Distributed Workforce Plan.

The Microsoft M365 Teams Administrator will primarily focus on implementing, managing, and optimizing the Microsoft Teams environment, alongside other Microsoft collaboration tools within the M365 suite. This role is key to enhancing the State of Missouri's communication and collaboration, ensuring the efficient and secure use of Microsoft Teams and related technologies. Additionally, this position will play a key role in ITSD's Digital Government Transformation initiative.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD).

What you'll do:
  • Manage and oversee the Microsoft Teams environment, including team creation, policies, upgrades, and governance. Ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and M365 group administrators to ensure platform integrity and security.
  • Implement and manage security policies specific to Microsoft Teams and related collaboration tools, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
  • Provide end-user support for Microsoft Teams and related tools. Develop and deliver training materials to enhance staff competency in using collaboration platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate Microsoft Teams with other internal systems and third-party applications.
  • Train and mentor other team members on best practices related to Microsoft Teams.
  • Utilize Microsoft Teams analytics and reporting to monitor usage, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve collaboration and efficiency.
All you need for success:
  • Proven experience in administering Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft collaboration tools such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Teams Phone, etc.
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft 365 services, with a focus on collaboration and communication tools.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security and compliance, especially in cloud and collaboration environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and user-focused approach.
  • Strong understanding of M365 site architecture and modern site configuration.
  • Certifications in Microsoft 365, specifically those focusing on Teams and collaboration services.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Knowledge of integrating Microsoft Teams with third-party applications and services.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platforms or Dataverse for Teams a plus.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
