Job Description and Duties The False Claims Unit seeks to recover money of which the state has been cheated through fraud and misrepresentation, by investigating and litigating violations of the California False Claims Act (Government Code section 12650 et seq.). False Claims cases often involve complex litigation in which millions of dollars are at stake. Under the direction of attorneys in the False Claims Unit and supervision by the Supervising Deputy Attorney General, the Senior Legal Analyst will assist attorneys and professional staff in preparing for and participating in complex false claims actions including investigations, discovery, trials, hearings, settlement conferences and meetings.
