This is a first-level position accountable for working within the framework of established system administration and maintaining multi-platform software and hardware that provide a range of functions to track enterprise applications, websites, data, and systems. Participates in gathering system requirements and performs technical writing at the entry/beginner end of scope and complexity. Creates basic level systems documentation. Undertakes work at a lower level of risk and complexity.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the State Data Center (SDC).

What you'll do:
  • Support the monitoring infrastructure in delivering and maintaining monitoring capabilities.
  • Build, maintain, and administer multiple monitoring and inventory systems.
  • Configure dashboards, alerts and reports where needed.
  • Maintain health of the environment - perform upgrades and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work with the team to develop solutions to integrate monitoring and inventory solutions where possible.
  • Monitor the environment to ensure everything is working as designed and according to our standards.
  • Provide customer and technical support for processes and monitoring operations.
  • Document monitoring and inventory system specifications and requirements.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and applications.
  • Ability to apply analytical skills with strong attention to detail in resolving issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software.
  • Ability to research, collect, and analyze performance data.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work well in a team environment.
  • Possess a desire to continue the development of new skills through self-study and assigned training.
  • Special projects, presentations, reports, and other duties as assigned.
  • Experience working with and comprehensive knowledge of applications such as, but not limited to: SolarWinds, Lansweeper, Dynatrace, and ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
