This position requires a thorough level of technical expertise to provide leadership on serials maintenance, including clean-up projects, quality control, defining best practices, and training others in the department according to best practices. In consultation with the Department Head and Acquisitions Coordinator, responsibilities include: managing print and electronic serials acquisitions and renewals; monitoring renewal cost increases; monitoring and dealing with adds and drops from packages; preparing reports; participating in the assessment of department operations and functions; drafting documentation; providing training to department staff; and interpreting library procedures and policies pertaining to the acquisition of serials and government documents. Responsible for all aspects of managing the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). In consultation with the Department Head, Acquisitions Coordinator, and Electronic Resources Librarian, maintains usage and cost-per-use data for serials; responds to requests for holdings, usage, and cost-per-use data; prepares requested reports; supports data-driven decisions about collections.
