THE POSITION
The Assessment and Care Coordination Mental Health Clinician will complete initial psychosocial assessments for children, youth and adults requesting new mental health services, traveling across our 3 clinics to complete face to face interview assessments with the client and caregivers. This assessment includes gathering information to determine a preliminary diagnosis and determine level of care. Additionally, the clinician will also be supporting care coordination of new and current clients transitioning across levels of care (county and managed care), while gathering relevant clinical and service information and documentation for discharge plans, and facilitating discussions with the multidisciplinary teams providing a warm handoff for client, staff, and receiving provider and/or natural supports. This MH clinician performs consultation and coordination reviews with client while utilizing the level of care reports, health record and clinical team information to determine appropriate service linkage needs. During these transitions, they may follow a subset of clients along until they are connected to their treatment meeting weekly with each clinical team for case reviews and planning. The MH Clinician will develop strong collaboration with the Access line team and community partners (Kaiser, Carelon/Partnership, North Bay Regional Center, Family Health, and others) and host cross-system coordination meetings as appropriate.

Extra-he lp employees in these positions have a flexible schedule. You may work part-time or full-time hours, but hours cannot exceed more than 999 hours in a fiscal year. Extra Help employees do not have rights to a regular position or continued employment and are excluded from civil service.

Note: All CalPERS retirees applying for Extra Help positions must meet CalPERS post retirement employment requirements. Work must be performed for a limited duration and retiree annuitant may not work more than 960 hours per fiscal year.

MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN (REGISTERED)

Salary: $44.84 - $54.51 hourly

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

No experience required.
Possession of a Master’s degree in a field of study approved by the California State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; AND

LICENSING, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Acceptance by the California State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as a candidate for licensure (registered intern/associate) as either a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFTI) or Associate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (ALCSW). MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN (LICENSED)

Salary: $49.33 - $59.96 hourly

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Two years of post Master’s degree supervised experience in a mental health related setting providing direct services to mentally or emotionally disabled persons, including dual diagnosis and addiction issues for those assigned to the substance abuse settings; AND

LICENSING, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Current licensure by the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as either a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or any other equivalent License approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
