REGIONAL MANAGER - REGIONAL ENGAGEMENT

Location: Kansas City Area

Bring your leadership experience to the refocused efforts of the Missouri Department of Economic Development's (DED) Regional Engagement Division. Regional Engagement teams serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for business expansion and growth opportunities. You will have the opportunity to:

§ Coordinate and direct outreach efforts to business and community customers throughout the region

§ Lead the Regional Engagement team in delivery of customized support and assistance for projects that drive economic growth and improve community and workforce capacity

§ Improve coordination amongst existing and develop new approaches and efforts to emphasize minority participation and inclusion

§ Develop an in depth understanding of the assigned region and have a thorough knowledge of the stakeholders.

§ Develop regional goals, and implementation strategies, to meet the needs of the region to include an emphasis on aligning efforts to enhance participation and inclusion across all local, regional, and state plans.

§ Provide guidance, consultation, and professional development and training to Project Managers and teams on program and resource details, as well as general customer service and business development.

§ Serve as a liaison to other state departments, federal agencies, and related public partners.

§ Facilitate the growth of businesses throughout assigned region. This includes meeting with company leadership to understand their needs, provide technical assistance, and connect them to appropriate resources.

§ Research, evaluate and prepare customized presentations for companies which highlight Missouri's business climate, financing, incentives, markets and suppliers.

§ Lead the regions business intelligence gathering and surveys of key existing businesses.

§ Manage the schedule and work activities of the team to ensure a proactive balance of community engagement, business development activities, and necessary project management to exceed customer expectations.

§ Ensure customer support and program administration functions for enrollment and application are complete and accurate; facilitate processing from Solutions Division partners.

§ Coordinate efforts with other Regional Teams, and respective Managers, to share best practices and ensure support collectively for statewide initiatives specifically including minority participation and inclusion.

Compensation Dependent on Qualifications:

§ Salary (based upon credentials): $55,000 - $62,750

§ The State of Missouri offers a benefit package including health and life insurance and retirement investments.

§ The Department has a classification system which rewards performance, expertise, and overall impact to the organization on an ongoing basis.

Desired Qualifications/Evaluation Criteria

§ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in marketing, public relations, economics, business or public administration, international business, agribusiness or a closely related area. Master's degree in Business Administration or Public Administration Preferred.

§ Four to six years of professional work experience.

§ Staff leadership experience in a dynamic setting. Proven experience supporting a team through empowerment and proactive professional development support and through establishment of clear expectations and success measures.

§ Previous program development to include establishment of policy guidelines and implementation related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
