Bring your knowledge of Adult Medicaid (AMA) and other economic services programs to a dedicated team of professionals who work hard every day to ensure residents of Wake County have what they need to thrive!

Program and Staff Development (PSD) is a section within the Economic & Social Services Division (ESS). PSD is seeking highly qualified and tech-savvy Economic Benefits Trainers to design, develop, and provide training to new hires and seasoned staff within ESS. The primary focus will be on AMA programs, reporting to the location needed to perform the required work. Primary duties include:
  • Creating a “high-performing work team" by ensuring that a consistent and high quality training curriculum is developed and communicated
  • Participating in the analysis, design, development, and facilitation of training efforts and integrating best practices; designing and delivering in-person and eLearning training in the areas of Economic Benefits policy and technical navigation
  • Focusing on AMA training programs that will increase the performance of individuals and various departments/units served
  • Developing and implementing organizational development services; coordinating programming for professional development, and evaluating and reporting on program effectiveness

This position's primary focus is Adult Medicaid (AMA), with additional program focus based on departmental need.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted


Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Three (3) years or more of experience working within Adult Medicaid programs within a state or county Department of Economic and Social Services
  • Advanced skills in training adults using adult learning theories and practices
  • Experience writing procedures and developing online training modules
  • Proficient with using technology
  • Bachelor's degree or higher level of education in a field related to the position


How Will We Know You're 'The One'?

  • Extensive program knowledge about Adult Medicaid in CAP, SA, LTC, PLA, and other programs as assigned
  • Experience in developing a high-quality training curriculum for Adult Medicaid policy and NC FAST
  • Skilled at facilitating the adult learning process and ensuring that training is engaging and fun
  • Ability to administer tests, quizzes, and exams to evaluate the transfer of learning
  • Experience verbally communicating and writing trainees’ weekly status updates and pathways to supervisors and program managers

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Hiring Range: $23.47 - $31.68, commensurate with experience

Market Range: 23.47 - 39.90
