Manages a warehouse/storekeeping operation of substantial size and complexity with responsibility for all inventory; supervises the stores functions; interviews vendor representatives to determine suitability of their products for agency/facility use; recommends the purchase of new products; receives general administrative direction; performs other related work as assigned

Serves as assistant to the designated director of warehouse/storekeeping operations; responsibility for supervising day-to-day activities of a large/complex warehouse/storekeeping operation

Coordinates/supervises the maintenance of all inventory control records; keeps perpetual inventory of all stores in the main storeroom/property inventory of all physical property/equipment/other specialized inventories; determines optimum inventory levels; establishes reorder points and standard order size for maximum economy; prepares purchase requisitions when inventory levels reach the reorder point

Supervises, through staff, the receiving/storing/physical property control/retail sales sections of the warehouse/storekeeping operation; monitors building/ward/other specialized supply rooms and records; reviews their operation to ensure maximum efficiency; instructs staff regarding proper storage/rotation/ stocking of inventory; makes regular inspections to ascertain that optimal use is being made of available materials; recommends the use of suitable items which may be available through the main storeroom

Minimum Qualifications:

Two or more years of experience as a Stores/Warehouse Associate with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR

Five or more years of experience maintaining inventory items and related records in a storeroom or warehouse; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency

(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of four years of the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year)

Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
