This position requires the ability to speak, read and write Spanish in addition to English. Applicants will be required to pass a proficiency exam. This recruitment will be used to fill a current vacancy and establish an eligibility list to fill other openings without reposting.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

As a Bilingual Vocational Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and support for public assistance, public health, and social service programs, along with various administrative functions.

At the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), we work a 37.5 full-time work week, with the option of a flex-schedule and potential upcoming opportunities to work remote 1-2 days per week (depending on position). This allows our staff to find a work-life balance that best fits their needs. Supervision & Examples of Duties

Incumbents in the Vocational Assistant classification receive close supervision from a supervisor or manager in the relevant program area.

Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Six (6) months of paid or unpaid work experience in a human services agency that provided an understanding and acceptance of clients served by the agency. Some positions require fluency in both English and Spanish.

Training: Equivalent to a high school diploma.
