This position will be located at
Pershing State Park, 29277 Highway 130, Laclede, MO. This position typically works Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. Shifts will vary with the time of year and with the needs of the facility. This position may require rotating weekends from April until November, and occasional work on evenings, holidays, and special events.
- Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
- Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds.
- Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
- Basic computer and customer service skills to help with camping reservations, retail sales, email inquiries, and regular report tracking.
- Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
- Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, aerial tree trimming, and other natural or cultural activities as directed with the completion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
- May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
This position may be required to obtain and maintain a Drinking Water Distribution certification and/or a Wastewater certification, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required, and if you do not currently possess these license/certifications, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
