Salary Range : $4,841 - $6,884/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary $4,841/Monthly)
Work Schedule : Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; some nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis. exempt classification.
Essential Functions : Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Residence Life, the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) provides the direction, leadership, and management of a student residence hall or apartment complex. The RLC works to establish an atmosphere that is conducive to accomplishing the goals and objectives of Housing and Residence Life, the mission of the Division of Student Life, and the mission of the University. The RLC leads a 24-hour residence hall or apartment complex for 400 to 600 student residents, a student volunteer team of 5 to 21 Resident Assistants, 3 to 6 Program Assistants, and 5 to 10 Student Assistants. RLCs will also: provide student counseling and advising; co-curricular education; crisis management; community development; maintain and adjudicate housing conduct, budget management, and oversight of residence halls or apartment areas. This position requires living in a residence hall/complex in a furnished apartment; meals are provided when dining service is open to residence hall meal plan holders.
Required Qualifications & Experience : Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Equivalent to two years of full-time experience coordinating or directing college- level group activities, including one year directing a Residence Life complex that has provided a wide exposure to student group problems. One year of job-related non-paid experience may substitute for one year of general experience required. The RLC must possess: general knowledge of principles of individual and group behavior; knowledge of Microsoft Office products; strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills; as well as good reading and writing skills. Ability to: work independently and develop solutions to complex problems; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; relate to the present-day population of college students and help them with their personal and social development; keep records and accounts; select, train, and evaluate student assistants and staff; analyze emergency situations accurately and take prompt action; prepare concise reports; develop, organize, and implement residence programs; perform mathematical calculation; assess needs quickly and effectively and intervene in student behavioral and crisis scenarios involving physical and/or emotional risk; and advise students individually or in groups on routine matters; and maintain dignity and self-control in stressful situations. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications : Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Services, Counseling, or a related field. Three years of residence hall experience beyond the Resident Advisor position. Experience using student conduct databases such as Maxient or assignment databases such as StarRez. Living learning community experience. Experience with student conduct; crisis intervention; and staff supervision. Program presentation skills
