The Store Warehouse Assistant at Missouri State Agency for Surplus Property (MOSASP) supports warehouse operations by managing surplus property, assisting customers, and performing general maintenance and upkeep. This position handles register transactions, works on team initiatives, and represents MOSASP during pickups and deliveries. Occasional travel is required throughout Missouri, including Kansas City, St. Louis, and other agency sites, as well as occasional out-of-state travel (e.g., Nebraska).
The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. However, flexibility is required to accommodate travel needs throughout Missouri and occasional out-of-state assignments. Travel may involve early departures, late returns, or overnight stays.
- Receive, label, store, and track surplus property
- Operate a register and process financial transactions accurately
- Provide customer service to state agencies, nonprofits, municipalities, and the public
- Support seasonal property and grounds maintenance
- Assist with lifting, moving, and arranging large or heavy items
- Use ladders, operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
- Participate in team projects and program-wide initiatives
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant warehouse space.
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Missouri driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications - Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service-focused with experience engaging the public and diverse agency partners
- Ability to perform basic math for pricing, inventory, and register operations
- Willingness to work in a physical, fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (approximately 50 - 70 lbs.), climb ladders, and work both indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to travel regularly and adapt to flexible scheduling needs
- Will be required to complete forklift certification through on-the-job training with the Warehouse Manager
- At least one year of experience in inventory, warehouse, or customer-facing roles
