    This position will be located at 1659 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

    • Lead the Emissions Inventory Questionnaire (EIQ) audit process for both on-site and desk audits. This will involve planning and conducting emissions data audits of regulated entities using developed procedures and preparing technical reports detailing the investigations. Updating procedures/templates accordingly.
    • Perform quality assurance on point source data. Format and submit point source data to the Emission Inventory System (EIS) as part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Emission Inventory (NEI) process.
    • Function as the principal scientific expert in creating new, updating existing, and using emissions reporting tools. This includes managing and updating the Landfill Emissions Calculation Tool workbook.
    • Serve as a co-technical expert regarding hazardous air pollutant (HAP) emissions processes.
    • Represent the air program in complex emissions reporting issues involving stakeholders and external air agencies.
    • Complete Permit Frameworks as assigned, coordinating with the permit engineer and/or facility if issues arise.
    • Assist the regulated community through phone, email, or in-person related to the Missouri Emissions Inventory System (MoEIS) use and EIQ completion.
    • Review and respond to permit concurrence requests.
    • Attend training and seminar continuously working on professional development, technical knowledge and skills, and identifying process improvements and efficiencies.

    • Environmental Science: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods to protect and improve the quality of the environment and its resources; and to monitor, control, abate, and prevent pollutants
    • Teamwork: Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity; fosters commitment and team spirit; works with others to achieve goals.


    Equivalent to those typically gained by:

    • A Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant customer centric data management experience. Preferred degree program includes Atmospheric Science, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Engineering, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Math, Natural Resource Management, Physics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
