    Overview

    At Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive and provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic, and inclusive staff member to join our Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Division as a Senior Social Caseworker - Practice Coach.

    The Practice Coach position supports the CYF Division’s Vision and Mission by coaching and training caseworkers to ensure child safety through work and partnership with supervisors. This position will provide a continuum of training and coaching activities that are seamless, fluid, effective, and targeted to meet each person’s needs in a strength-based, supportive manner.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Modeling best practice principles to new caseworkers.
    • Accompanying child protection caseworkers during field activities such as court, family meetings, home visits, and ARDs.
    • Assessing the core competencies of caseworkers and providing evaluation feedback to their supervisors.
    • Participating in the development and delivery of Larimer County’s training system.
    • Providing feedback to agency leadership on best practice gaps and accomplishments.
    • Coordinating and facilitating trainings, workshops, group coaching, and one-on-one coaching sessions.

    What we're looking for:
    • Knowledge of guiding philosophies such as Partnering for Safety, Resilience, and Trauma-Informed Practice, and Hope.
    • Thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of caseworkers and service team staff.
    • Experience navigating and applying County and State regulations, including Volume 7.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable speaking to groups and delivering engaging, well-planned training.
    • Ability to provide timely, constructive feedback to learners and communicate effectively with supervisors.
    • Ability to work independently while upholding the values and mission of the agency.


    Qualifications

    • Two (2) years of experience as a professional social caseworker in either a public or private agency, including experience equivalent to a Social Caseworker II in Larimer County required. A Masters Degree or higher in a social work or human behavioral sciences field may substitute for one year of experience as a professional caseworker.
    • Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.

    Supplemental Information

    This position is a hybrid position and will require at least two days/week in the office. Additional office days may be required in any given week based on training schedules and other required meetings. You will be required to have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces.

    This position will be located at one of the following three locations: 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland, CO

    All new employees and rehires will be required to submit fingerprints for a CBI criminal background check (c.r.s. 26-6-104).

    All staff working in the Options for Long Term Care Unit, Adult Protection Unit, or Office on Aging will be required to submit information for a Colorado Adult Protective Services data system check (c.r.s. 26-3-1-111).
